July 14th, , Last nite there was mention of a complaint from a senior high school swimmer who was uncomfortable with using a locker room with the adult master swimmers. We practice at the same time a few days out of the week. This became an bigger issue last nite because we have a desire to run USA swimming at the same time as a few masters sessions in the evening and our coach voiced concern about everyone using the locker room at the same time and kids being uncomfortable.
Sorry for forgetting to put that in the title. This is a silly question, but I'm curious. The other day at dinner, my dad mentioned that his weight today at The Y was the lowest it's been in twenty years. Then he went on to say "of course, I was weighing myself while naked, dry, and probably dehydrated. He said that one usually gets undressed for the shower, goes to the bathroom, washes one's hands, says hi to other men, and then doesn't get dressed again until right before leaving. He was very surprised to hear that women usually don't do that. Most women who shower at the gym especially younger women go to and from said shower wrapped in a towel.
All of the male prudery began after gay rights went mainstream. Even though I was incredibly shy it was heaven. There was this one wrestler in my gym class whose body was cut from marble, just perfection, the most perfect body I have ever seen in person. There was another guy, the quarterback god what a stereotype, i know a year older than me -- I found out what period he had gym class and I used to go into the locker-room pretending I needed to get something out of my locker just to see him naked.
