Perspectives of Bradford-born Pakistani men. This study sheds light on being a Bradford man of Pakistani and Muslim heritage. While there was some continuity of cultural values and norms between generations, significant changes also appeared to be taking place. Summary Summary Muslims are the largest single religious minority in the UK. UK Muslims are the object of analysis and concern within various policy arenas and popular debates, including immigration, marriage and partner selection, social cohesion and integration. This study, by Yunis Alam and Charles Husband, gathered insights, experiences and narratives from 25 men aged that shed light on being a Bradfordian man of Pakistani and Muslim heritage.
Family photo A West Yorkshire MP is calling for an investigation into the death of a young British woman in Pakistan, over suspicions she may have been the victim of an honour killing. Samia Shahid, a year-old beautician from Bradford, died last week while in Northern Punjab, where she is believed to have been travelling to visit a sick relative. Detectives in Pakistan are already investigating the death, but Bradford West MP Naz Shah is calling on them to go further and exhume Samia's body as part of their enquiries.
